Services to help people regain or maintain independence in their lives. To qualify you must have a disability that severely limits your ability to function independently on a daily basis. You must have a reasonable expectation that our services will significantly improve your ability to function independently. Services are available regardless of age, disability or income level.
Last year WILR served over 600 consumers with cross disabilities in their own homes. Examples range all the way from the purchase of utensils for eating meals, to the installation of grab bars for bathing, to the building of wheelchair ramps for access to consumers's homes. All services varied based on each individual conumers' needs.
Eligibility
- Resident in the eastern half of Wyoming.
- A disability that severely limits your ability to function independently on a daily basis.
Services Provided
- Information and Referral
Refer you to other agencies and organizations who may also be able to provide services or financial assistance.
- Skills Training
Evaluate and train you in living and mobility skills.
- Home Modification
Evaluate and recommend home modifications.
- Adaptive Equipment
Evaluate and recommend appropriate equipment that can help you live more independently in your own home.
- Loan Closets
Technical devices and adaptive equipment are available for short term use.
- Cross-Disability Peer Counseling
Peer support for multi-disabilities.
- Advocacy & Rights Counseling
We counsel you on the special rights you have as a person with a disability. We also work as your representative in attaining your rights.
