Health Care Access and the ADA:  Know Your Rights

People with disabilities have the right to equal access to health care under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). However, barriers in facilities, equipment, communication, and policies can still impact access to care.

This workshop will examine how the ADA applies to health care settings and what equal access should look like in practice. Topics will include:

·        Removing physical barriers

·        Accessible medical equipment

·        Effective communication

·        Reasonable modifications 

·        Who is covered
