Transportation Check Program

The Transportation Check Program is a system designed to assist people with disabilities in meeting their transportation needs. Eligible participants use assigned checks for the payment of fees or reimbursement of mileage to transportation providers.

The Transportation provider then submits the check to Wyoming Independent Living, Inc. (WIL) for reimbursement. tc1

An eligible participant can use the checks in a variety of ways, including defraying the costs of a ride provided by a friend, co-worker, neighbor, volunteer or a public provider. Participants may also share strategies and resources with each other and through support groups.

Participants in the Transportation Check Program are responsible for organizing and securing the rides they need.

1. Consumers with a documented disability and an identifiable barrier to transportation.

2. Residing in the Eastern Half of Wyoming. (Albany, Campbell, Carbon, Converse, Crook, Goshen, Johnson, Laramie, Natrona, Niobrara, Platte, Sheridan and Weston Counties.)

3. In some cases consumers of Project Out may be eligible.

Youth Advisory Council

WIL is looking for youth with disabilities ages 14-24 who have a strong desire to be involved in their community, develop leadership skills, and act as peer mentors.  If you know someone who would be interested, please encourage them to apply!
